Eight St. Paulians, seven biographies: In this part of this exhibition show what critical decisions members of FC St. Pauli made, what life they made during the Third Reich and what copes of action were left to them under the totalitarian rule of the NSDAP – partially with life threatening consequences.
These biographies are embedded in the events which shaped them: a chronology of the years 1933-45.
Taking a closer look, we will notice that the ways of the introduced people will cross on a regular basis. Together, they produce an interwoven story that does not produce any heroes: no proof of a clear resistance of FC St. Pauli members could be established. (nachweisen lassen).
Instead, there are shades of grey and thinking overs (Abwägungen), pragmatism and (Selbsterhalt) – but also pursuits for NS-careers and exploitation of „aryanised“ property. Facettes of a (Mitläufer)club.
